Computing is an exploration of what it means to be human. Programming, one of the core skills, is a human activity, about humanity and for humanity.
The act of programming is not only an analytical process, but a creative extension of ourselves that can be used to promote and amplify the good we are doing. Through learning the concepts, we become better citizens, better able to make decisions and guide others towards an informed future.
It is my belief that everyone should be studying Computing; for to understand and apply it ensures we can actively make a positive difference in the world. Good digital citizenship is in fact good citizenship. Not only do we need to be aware of current social and ethical implications in order to protect ourselves, we need to be proactive in creating the futures we want to live.
